På 1800-talet doppade man en träkrans eller en skrovlig pinne i degen för att jästsvamparna skulle fästa på den. När man sedan lyfte upp kransen satt degresterna kvar i kransens håligheter. Nästa gång man skulle baka lade man ner kransen i degvätskan (?) så att jästsvamparna kunde ta sig ut i den nya degen. Jag tycker det verkar troligt att man skulle ha använt denna metod redan på medeltiden.
Så det kanske är bättre att satsa på en krans eller pinne att fästa jästen på istället för att få den att fästa direkt i tråget. Men jag har inte provat något av alternativen, så du får gärna rapportera om hur det går.
