Bilderna som hänvisas till ovan är lite för sentida. Finns det belägg för att adelsmän använde eller inte använde spjut till fots under 11-1200-talen?

Att man av och till plockade upp vapen på slagfältet och använde dessa ter sig ganska självklart, men såg man spjutet som en del av adelsmannens arsenal och tränade man med det? Eller var det ett vapen för fotsoldater och bönder?

Några tankar:

-De flesta riddarna saknar sköld
-Nästan alla bär jupon (eller vad det nu är)
-Riddarna använder spjut till fots ganska så ofta
-Många bågskyttar är välrustade med ben i metall

"Jackan är sydd i två färger, så kallad miparti. Vi har inga belägg för just vapenjackor i mi-parti under slutet av 1300-talet"

Jag har hittat en bild i boken Riddare (Cravett Christopher (1996) "Riddare" Bonnier Carlsen) på sidan 32 där riddare och soldater slåss på en bro. Orginalet finns på British Library och ska vara från slutet av 1300-talet.

Nu hittade jag oxå bilden på nätet:

En av bågskyttarna på bron har en vadderad jacka i blått och rött (han har också hosor i motsatta färger).

Om det nu är en vapenjacka eller en jupon det vete gudarna. Men jag tycker att det visar att bösseskyttens vapenjacka i miparti kan kännas autentisk.
