Jag håller med om att folkmusikens rytm skapas av annat än rytminstrument, men glöm inte mungigan! Eller kolla in trummisen i folkmusikgruppen Groupa när han går loss på sina rytmattiraljer! Högstämt pianoklinkande?! Njaee...

Det finns en del sporadiska omnämnande av folkligt trumspel i Sverige framförallt i samband med bröllop. Däremot har jag inte sett några beskrivningar av hur det har gått till.

När Falso Bordone använder sig av trumma så antar jag att de har hämtat sina förebilder lite längre söder ut i Europa.

Det säkraste man kan gå efter är väl som vanligt målningar, och där är det ju onekligen en hel del trummor. I västgötalagen (lekarerätten) nämns ju en typisk lekare som "en som med fiddla far, giga gångar eller trumma".

Det som tilltalar mig och många andra moderna människor med medeltida musik måste vara rytmen: slagverk har ju en central roll i många stycken. Ofta verkar många medeltida stycken vara influerade av arabisk musik med mycket rytm och trummor.

Det är väl så att arabiska trummor (doembek, darbouka) samt afrikanska (djembe) smugit sig in i medeltidsmusiken liksom många andra musikstilar det senaste decenniet. En modefluga helt enkelt. Folk som får en härlig dunka-dunka 4/4 eller 3/4 takt serverad till medeltida musik har nog lättare att ta den till sig, trummor är ju publikfriande till en publik som är är van rock, metal eller eurodisco.

Är väldigt tveksam att man hade särskilt mycket trummor i musiken på medeltiden, trummor verkar mest varit en militär företeelse. Fast visst är det skoj att lyssna på Cultus Ferox fyra trumslagare slåendes med klubbor på varsin baskagge.

Jag skall kika i min litteratur och se om jag hittar några belägg.
Arabisk folkmusik har inte heller per automatik trummor, knappast ens i högre grad än den europeiska, skulle jag tro. Åtminstone har jag sett rejält många arabiska folkmusikband live, och nästan aldrig med trumma.

Vill även hålla med Martin Lejon, jag tycker trumma inte alls är nödvändig för rytmen, faktiskt tycker jag ofta att frånvaron av trumma kan ge bättre "sväng". Med trumma blir det ibland lite väl markerade rytmer.

Och många danser genom 15- 16- och 1700-talet har livliga och starka rytmer.

Men om det är själva dunka-dunkat [;)] du menar, trumman, så lever den väl kvar mest som allt mer sällan använd puka i konstmusiken. Kanske kom trumman att bli alltför förknippad med krig och marscher under seklen?
