Jag har planer på att göra en dubbebälg för smide under vintern. Enligt Hantverkslägret bör man använda tjokt läder, ca 2,5 mm (http://www.hantverkslagret.org/hantverk ... 3%A4lg.asp). Efter att ha läst här så verkar det som man kan ha tunnare läder. Det getskinn jag hittar är 1,2 mm (http://www.slojd-detaljer.se/Butik/docs ... _id=SE-204) och halva pengarna mot det 2,5 mm oxhud, som jag förövrigt tycker verkar för stelt för att kunna ha i bälg.

Vilket skulle ni rekomendera? Getskinnet, oxhuden eller något annat?

En del hår får gärna vara kvar på skinnet (ca 1 cm långt) Detta för att det ej ska bli veck som sen blir hål. Håren inåt. Sömmar: fällsöm (jeanssöm) Rakning i sömmarna. Smorning 1 gg/år håller lädret smidigt.

Detta är i korthet den info jag fått!

Hur ska lädret sen skötas så det håller länge? Hur gör man skarvarna på lämpligaste vis? Bälgen är formad som en tunna.

Bakgrundshistorien är att min Hembygdsförening håller på att renovera en gammal smedja. Läderbälgen har spruckit och några vill limma dit en gummilapp, medan andra vill renovera den och byta ut lädret. Jag tycker att en gummilapp känns väldigt trist. Kan nån hjälpa mig, så vi slipper gummilappar och kan hålla smedjan mer tidsenlig, så är jag otroligt tacksam!
