Mja, de har fått till "strut-" (kort i deras tolkning) och hättdelen bra men sedan verkar de ha fallit till föga för enkelheten och gjort slaget som en ordinär grönlands-/bockstenshätta.

Jag har sett rekonstruktioner av båda slag. Att tänka på dock är att den är tämligen bred - en dryg decimeter.
Jag glömde att nämna att hättan finns att beskåda på sidorna 55 - 60 i Häggs rapport. Den verkar inte vara av den senare vanliga typen med mittkil fram på slaget, istället har den två mindre skulderkilar.
(att notera är dock att det bara är delar av slaghättans <i>ena</i> sida finns bevarad - att den bara hade skulderkilar är en hypotes baserad på befintliga fragment)

Men fyndet vid Hedeby betyder alltså att man inte är ute och simmar på atlanten om man drar på en struthätta till en dräkt bestående av pösbyxor, särk och kaftan då?

När jag tittar på dessa så tycks det mig som att figurerna bär något som är mycket likt en huva med strut, eller är det mer troligt att det är håret som avses?
