Synen på om skäggväxten skall tuktas eller inte har ju ändrats med tiden. Jag kan rekommendera följde text för den intresserade:

Skäggväxten av J.L. Saxon

"Umgängeskonst -- levnadskonst"
(Saxon och Lindströms
förlag, Stockholm,
1934).

I korthet går det ut på att riktiga män har skägg. Det är manligt och hälsosamt. Att raka sig är ett olyckligt mode och är förklenande både fysiskt och psykiskt. Och alla normala kvinnor tycker om män i skägg!

Lasse! Trevligt med en knivman, jag använder endast rakkniv när jag rakar mig. Just nu har jag helskägg så det har varit lite rakande på ett tag [V]

Vad jag förstår så har rakkniven i stort sett väldigt lik ut under lång tid, någon med mera skägg på hakan i det ämnet?

Vad gäller formen tycks det ha varierat en hel del, alltifrån rakare modeller till mer svanhalslika blad.

Absolut!
Utöver att innehåla en hel del fakta är den rolig! Visserligen behandlar den skäggmodet under olika perioder i förhållande till dokumentationen. Sådana som du och jag kan alltså tycka att det är aningen tunt för medeltiden.
