Så här står det om A82 salletten i Wallace katalogen:
"The surface of the skull is painted all over with khaki colour, with three parallel stripes' of white and blach emulating fluting; on either side in a brownish-yellow is a large capital N, and at the back is a six-pointed star in yellow. On the visor is painted the face of a monstrous lion, the eye-balls, nose, tusks and scales touched in in black, white red and brown on a black ground.
... German (Nuremberg?), about 1500"
Jag har fått för mig att man troligtvis använde sig av temperafärger?
